Tennessee is #18 of 51 at 52.37%, +1.45 pp since July, a gain of 4 places in rank. Tennessee has a sample of 1,310 businesses, and its Claude usage index is 0.54, the third lowest among the seven US Southeast states we serve, ahead of only Alabama and South Carolina. Statewide figures blend Memphis with Nashville, Knoxville and the rest, so the state is context only.

For a Memphis firm, the nearest comparison is the other US Southeast states: Tennessee ranks third of the seven on Ramp adoption. The State of AI by State report carries the other 50 rows and the sources, for comparing Memphis with anywhere else.

The local economy

A logistics city on a river, rail yards and interstates.

FedEx is headquartered in Memphis and runs its main hub at Memphis International Airport. AutoZone and International Paper are headquartered in the city, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is one of its best-known institutions. The Mississippi River, interstates 40 and 55 and several Class I railroads make Memphis one of the main freight crossroads in the country.

Freight draws warehouses, third-party logistics operators and distributors, and the Mid-South farming economy around the city draws equipment dealers. Those businesses take orders in every format, quote against competitors' part numbers and answer where-is-my-shipment questions all day. The people doing that are skilled and hard to hire. A firm of 50 to 500 people in that position benefits quickly from help with the reading and typing.

Questions

Asked in Memphis.

Do you build for logistics companies?

We have no published logistics client. Distributors, warehouses and brokers have order-entry, quoting and documentation work that Claude handles well. We would look at one real flow of orders first, and say honestly in the Diagnostic whether it fits and which package.

Will this replace dispatchers or customer service staff?

No. We turn down any brief that is really about replacing a team. Claude reads and drafts, a person decides, and your skilled people spend their time on the exceptions. In a tight labor market that matters, and we write down who reviews what.

Do you have an office in Memphis?

No. Setanta is based in Wilmington, NC. Our founder works with Memphis clients remotely and on site as the project needs. Most of the work is built in your own accounts, so a local office is not needed.

How does Tennessee's Claude usage compare?

Tennessee has an AUI of 0.54 in the Anthropic data for August 4 to 11, 2025, below parity at 1.00. Only Alabama and South Carolina are lower among the seven US Southeast states we serve. The figure covers Claude.ai Free and Pro use and is a year older than the Ramp data.

What is the free Operating Diagnostic?

A free call (book a time) that looks at how your team works today. It finds where Claude would move your numbers first and the process worth fixing first, and says which package fits. If it is not the right time, we say so.
